Self-harm among children and adolescents is often misunderstood, leaving educators unsure of how to respond when concerns arise. This training provides educators with a deeper understanding of nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI), including the reasons students may engage in self-harm, common warning signs, myths and misconceptions, and the relationship between self-harm and suicide risk. Participants will learn how trauma, emotional regulation, stress, and mental health challenges contribute to self-injurious behaviors and explore practical strategies for responding with empathy while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
