Within this training, strategies to develop a trauma informed approach at the organizational level will be explored. This training will focus on systems-level changes that school leaders can implement in order to enhance their programming for students with or without a trauma history. We will discuss the impact of trauma on learning, and how to roll out trauma-sensitive approaches with staff and how to review/revise policies and procedures to ensure that they reflect the needs of students impacted by trauma. Furthermore, we will briefly consider the impact that working with students who have experienced trauma can have on educators.
